Pratt & Whitney West Palm Beach Manufacturing Repair & Overhaul is an organization for the Pratt & Whitney Geared Turbofan (GTF) engine.

Job Description:

The critical role of the GTF Quality Engineer provides quality support functions in accordance with CFR Part 145 Repair Station regulations supporting Geared Turbofan engine overhauls. Additional duties required to fill this role are:


This position is a Second Shift Role.


You will work with the Engineering and Operations teams to ensure procedures and processes are aligned with approved data.


You will build and maintain quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, etc. as well as perform root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns.


You will also perform and follow up on internal and external quality system audits assuring conformance to FAA regulations, ISO standards, user documentation, company procedures, and customer specifications as applicable.

Close out audit findings, crafting audits finding reports and resolve proper corrective and preventive actions.

Perform repair reviews to determine shop capability and cost analysis.

Assist shop operations and engineering personnel in figuring out root cause and implementing corrective actions for customer escapes and audit findings.

Analyze failure, corrective action and preventive action to respond to customer complaints.

Lead and conduct improvement activities to improve the quality system, such as 5S, Kaizen lean methods, etc.

Demonstrate a dedication to the EH&S Program including, compliance with all applicable policies and procedures, and maintenance of a safe workplace.

Perform technical writing to ensure that procedures related to quality are established, maintained, and supported according ISO requirements and Pratt & Whitney global quality policies.

Ensure that methods and the equipment used in the various tests are reliable, accurate, and conscientious.

Report monthly Quality measurements to Senior Management including discussion relative to the requirements and Unit strategy.

**Qualification:**

Basic Qualifications:


+ You will possess a minimum of 3 years of directly related experience in quality in an aerospace, manufacturing, and/or Overhaul & Repair environment.

+ Quality systems and process auditing skills, both internally and externally.

+ Knowledge of ISO 9100/9110 implementation.

+ Applied knowledge of the Code of Federal Regulations Title 14 Understanding of manufacturing processes; such as plasma, peening, turning, machining, etc.


Preferred Qualifications:


+ MA/MS in Engineering or related technical discipline.

+ Certifications as ASQC Certified Quality Engineer and ISO Certified Lead Auditor is preferred.

+ You can navigate print or technical data - aerospace related engineering with relevant quality engineering experience considered.

+ Working experience in Quality for a FAR 145 Repair Station is helpful.

+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

+ You have the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization as well as Strong business discernment and proven leadership skills.


**Education:** Education

BA/BS in Mechanical Engineering, or a Quality Engineering or related technical field required.
